Baby Log
How do I log a breastfeeding session?
Tap Breast to start the timer on the suggested side. Tap Left or Right to switch sides, then tap Done to save. While the timer runs, you can also switch sides or finish from the Live Activity on the Lock Screen. To log a feed you didn't time, tap + and enter it manually.
How do I log bottles and pumping? Can I change the units?
When you log a bottle or a pumping session, enter the amount in your preferred unit. Choose your units in Settings → Units: ml or oz, kg or lb, cm or in, and °C or °F.
How does the sleep timer work?
Start the sleep timer when your baby falls asleep and stop it when they wake up. You can do this in the app, from the Live Activity on the Lock Screen (Wake up), from the Quick Log widget or with Siri.
How do I log a diaper?
Log a wet or dirty diaper in the app, with one tap on the Quick Log widget, or by saying "Log a wet diaper in Baby Log".
How do I edit or delete an entry?
Open History and tap an entry to edit it. To delete an entry, swipe it in the list.
I forgot to log something. Can I add it later?
Yes. Tap +, choose what you want to log and set the time it happened.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget and choose Baby Log. One widget shows the last feed at a glance. The Quick Log widget lets you log a wet or dirty diaper, start or stop sleep, and start or stop breastfeeding with one tap, without opening the app. You can also add Baby Log widgets to the Lock Screen.
The Live Activity doesn't appear on my Lock Screen.
Open the iPhone Settings app → Baby Log and turn on Live Activities. A Live Activity appears while a breastfeeding or sleep timer is running, with buttons to Switch side, finish with Done or record that your baby woke up with Wake up.
Can I use Siri?
Yes. Try saying:
- "Log a wet diaper in Baby Log"
- "Start sleep in Baby Log"
- "Baby woke up in Baby Log"
- "Start breastfeeding in Baby Log"
- "When was the last feed in Baby Log"
How do I set up the feeding reminder?
Open Settings → Day and Night and turn on the feeding reminder. Baby Log then reminds you a set number of hours after the last feed. It's a helpful nudge, not a medical feeding schedule. If reminders don't arrive, open the iPhone Settings app → Baby Log → Notifications and turn on Allow Notifications.
Is there a dark mode for night feeds?
Yes. In Settings → Day and Night you can have the app switch to dark mode at night, so the screen is gentler in a dark room.
Can I track twins or siblings?
Yes, with Pro. Open Settings → Babies and tap Add Baby. Each baby has their own entries, trends and reports.
How do I create a report for the pediatrician?
With Pro, open Trends or Settings → Pediatrician Report to create a PDF of what you logged, then save or share it. The report notes that it was logged by parents and is not a medical record.
What's included for free?
Unlimited logging for one baby with timers, widgets, Live Activities, Siri and reminders, plus trends for the last 7 days and the last 7 days of history. Older entries are never deleted: they are kept on your iPhone and come back when you get Pro. Pro adds full history, 14- and 30-day trends, the growth chart, the PDF report for the pediatrician, more than one baby and backup export.
Where is my data stored? How do I move to a new iPhone?
All data stays on your iPhone. With Pro, use Settings → Export Backup and save the file to iCloud Drive or Files. On the new iPhone, choose Restore from Backup.
Can my partner see the same data?
Not automatically. Baby Log has no accounts and no cloud sync, so your data stays on one iPhone. Your partner can copy your data to their iPhone by restoring a backup you exported, but new entries don't sync between the two iPhones after that.
How do I restore or cancel my purchase?
To restore, tap Restore Purchases in Settings. To cancel a subscription, open the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions.
Baby Log is a logbook for parents, not a medical device. It gives no medical advice and does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are worried about your baby, for example because of a fever, contact your pediatrician. In an emergency, call your local emergency services.
