Privacy Policy
Money Log · Last updated October 21, 2026
Information we collect
None. Money Log does not collect, transmit or sell personal information. We have no servers and never receive your financial data.
Information stored on your device
Income, bills and payments, cards, purchases, installments, categories, budgets, savings goals and your settings are saved only in the app's storage on your device. The widgets and Siri read a short summary (for example what's left this month and the next bills) from storage shared with the app on the same device. Deleting the app deletes this data.
iCloud sync (iPhone and iPad, optional)
If you turn on iCloud sync (Pro), your data is also stored in your own private iCloud database, so you can use it on your iPhone and iPad. Apple stores it under Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it. You can turn sync off at any time; your data stays on the device.
Android backup
On Android there is no iCloud sync. If your phone's backup is on (Android Settings › Google › Backup), Android includes Money Log's data and settings in your phone's backup to your Google account, encrypted by Android, so they come back on a new phone. Google stores it under Google's privacy policy; we cannot access it. You can turn the backup off in your phone's settings.
Sync with your partner
When you sync with your partner, your data goes directly from one phone to the other, nearby and encrypted, without the internet or any server: between iPhones with Apple's Multipeer Connectivity, and between Android phones with Google's Nearby Connections (Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi). Each phone keeps the joined data on the device; nothing is sent to us. On Android 8 to 12, Android requires the location permission to look for nearby devices over Bluetooth; Money Log does not read or store your location. On Android 13 and newer it asks for Nearby devices instead.
Bank statements and Apple Pay
Money Log never connects to your bank. When you import a CSV or OFX file, it is read on your device and not sent anywhere. On iPhone, if you set up the Shortcuts automation for Apple Pay, Shortcuts passes the amount, merchant and card name to the app on your device.
App lock, notifications and Siri
The optional lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode on iPhone and iPad, and your fingerprint, face or screen lock on Android, through the operating system; the app only learns whether unlocking succeeded. Bill reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Siri and Shortcuts requests (iPhone) are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Sharing and backups
Spreadsheets (CSV) and backups are created only when you tap Export. You decide where they go (for example Files or iCloud Drive on iPhone, or Google Drive or Downloads on Android). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google through Google Play on Android. We do not receive your payment details; the app only learns whether Pro is active.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
