Mileage Log · Last updated October 13, 2026

The short version: we don't collect any of your data. Your trips and locations stay on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

Information we collect

None. Mileage Log does not collect, transmit or sell personal information. We have no servers and never receive your trips or locations.

Location

The app uses your location only while a trip you started is running, to measure the distance driven. It keeps measuring with the screen locked until you stop the trip; iOS shows a location indicator while it does. Location points are used to add up the distance and are not stored as a route history.

When a trip ends and your iPhone is online, the app asks Apple's built-in geocoding service to turn the start and end coordinates into street names (for example "Congress Ave, Austin"). This request goes directly to Apple, not to us, and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. Offline, the names are simply left blank.

Information stored on your device

Trips, distances, place names, odometer readings, notes and settings are saved only in the app's storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Sharing and backups

PDF reports, CSV files and backups are created only when you tap Share or Export. You decide where they go (for example Mail, Files or iCloud Drive). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
