Privacy Policy

The short version: we don't collect any of your data. Your trips and locations stay on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

Information we collect

None. Stay Counter does not collect, transmit or sell personal information. We have no servers and never receive your trips, your passport country or your location.

Location

Location is used only if you turn on automatic detection (and allow it in iOS). The app uses iOS's low-power significant-change and visit monitoring to notice when you may have crossed a border, then finds the country with map data built into the app, on your device, without any network request. Coordinates are not stored; only the country and the date are saved as a stay. You can turn detection off at any time in Settings, and change location access in the iOS Settings app.

Information stored on your device

Stays (country, arrival and departure dates, notes), planned trips, your passport and home country, the rules you track, a Schengen visa's dates if you add one, and your settings are saved only in the app's storage on your device. The widgets read a short summary from storage shared with the app on the same device. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Notifications and Siri

Arrival messages and warnings are scheduled locally on your device. When you use Siri or Shortcuts with Stay Counter, your request is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; the app only receives the action, such as the country you arrived in.

Sharing and backups

PDF travel histories, CSV files and backups are created only when you tap Share or Export. You decide where they go (for example Mail, Files or iCloud Drive). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
